This website started out as a way for clients to see my architecture projects, but has gradually developed into a way to share some of my other work with those who are interested.

I have worked in architecture for the last 20 years, deepening a love of the built environment and resultant spaces that create where we live and learn. I tend to be a generalist in my designs and thus work in all areas of architecture--from schools, government facilities, libraries, and commercial sites, to homes, live/work projects and mixed use. I most enjoy designing spaces that function well, respect human scale, have unusual features, and and just plain fun!

I have designed for temperate as well as cold-weather climates, and am sensitive to environmental issues in building. I especially like to use shading devices such as awnings, overhangs and tellises or arbors. One of my recent projects, a dental building in Santa Rosa is powered by photo-voltaic panels, and uses LCD lighting as well as other energy-conserving products.

Because of my work in architecture, I developed a love of the graphic arts and computers. I have a small graphic design practice and do varioius types of projects, all the way from family holiday photo cards and wedding "newsletters" to calendars, business cards, invitations, brochures, and announcements.

I am also an Psychological Assistant at Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic and am completing my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Imaginal Studies. Although I had always been interested in the psyche, a sudden and unusual experience--what is commonly called an "anomalous experience "--led to my entering graduate school at the Institute of Imaginal Studies.

I am currently in the final stages of writing my dissertation, entitled, Unseen Gifts: Turning Toward the Marginalization of Anomalous Experience. It explores how our experiences are often denied or devalued--both personally and culturally. The research focused on helping participants reclaim and revalue their experiences, which led to a deeper capacity for creative expression as well as practices of possibility.

As part of my graduate study, I have also been drawn towards the creative arts therapys, and became coodinator of the CareFlags Project--a community art collection. This has been sponsored by the Center for the Creative Arts Therapies, and currently I am the curator for over 2500 flags painted by children and adults who live in the North Bay area.
